Stress Balls

Staff and students to fill colorful balloons with sand, rice, flour, or beans. Use a funnel to open the mouth of the balloons. Don't forget to double-knot! If your school is latex-free, try the same activity using socks!

Sensory Bottles

Collect and clean empty water bottles. Open the bottles to add glitter, beads, and/or sequins. Then cap the bottle and secure it with glue. Students can shake the bottles and watch as the items settle to the bottom. A similar effect can be achieved with colorful water and oil.

Activities like stringing beads can have a soothing effect. Consider adding an academic component by using alphabet or number beads.

Coloring can help relieve student stress, calm their minds, and relax their bodies. Print free images off the internet.

Listening to classical or soothing music can engage the brain, decrease heart rate, and release endorphins.
